Minot State volleyball announces schedule for upcoming 2025 season
A new season of action-packed volleyball at the Minot State Dome gets underway homecoming weekend this fall as the Beavers again host four opponents in their now-annual Homecoming Classic as part of their 2025 schedule.
Minot State head coach Alex Courtney unveiled the team’s schedule for this fall, which features the Beavers hosting their second annual homecoming tournament Thursday, Sept.11 and and Friday, Sept. 12.
Along with hosting Montana State-Billings, Manitoba, Brandon, and Black Hill State during a busy weekend of festivities in early September, the Beavers will battle a trio of in-state foes with home-and-home matches against the University of Mary, a trip to play new NSIC member the University of Jamestown, and hosting Bismarck State, which is transitioning to a 4-year school and will be a new member of the NAIA.
The season begins at the end of August as the Beavers will travel to Dickinson State for a scrimmage on Aug. 30, before a long road-trip to Anchorage, Alaska to play in the Seawolves tournament, Sept. 5-6, taking on Cal State San Marcos and Biola (Calif.) on Friday, Sept. 5, then Alaska-Fairbanks and the host Alaska-Anchorage on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Following the trip to Alaska, the Beavers make their home debut, opening homecoming weekend hosting Montana State Billings in the MSU Dome on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., then taking on the University of Manitoba to wrap up the first day of play in the Beavers’ Homecoming Classic at 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
Back on the hardwood at the MSU Dome on Friday, Sept. 12, Minot State battles Black Hills State at 10 a.m., then concludes the tournament playing Brandon University at 6 p.m. on Friday night.
After eight tournament contests to open the season, Minot State hits the road to open NSIC play the following weekend, playing at St. Cloud State, which finished the 2025 season No. 5 in the nation. The Beavers open NSIC play against the Huskies on Friday, Sept. 19.
The brief road-trip wraps up Saturday, Sept. 20, at Minnesota State, Mankato before the Beavers return home for a four-match homestand that includes two in-state rivalry battles starting with the Mary Marauders first trip to the MSU Dome since October of 2023 on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m.
The homestand continues with matches Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26 and 27, as the Beavers host Concordia, St. Paul – which finished the 2024 season ranked No. 13 in the nation – on Friday at 6 p.m., then Winona State on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Minot State closes out the home-stand hosting new 4-year program Bismarck State on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m., in the first official meeting between the schools since 1995.
Minot State then hits the road to start October with matches at Bemidji State on Oct. 3, and Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 4, before returning to the MSU Dome to host Minnesota State Moorhead on Friday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m., and Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m.
The Beavers stay close to home for their next match with their first battle against new NSIC member Jamestown, playing the Jimmies on their court on Thursday, Oct. 16, before wrapping up the week’s action hosting Northern State at the MSU Dome at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18. Northern State finished the 2024 season ranked No. 22 in the nation, one of five NSIC teams to finish the season in the AVCA Top 25.
Following the home match, Minot State plays three on the road over the next week with a second meeting with Mary, Tuesday, Oct. 21, in Bismarck, then a trip to Winona State on Friday, Oct. 24, and a visit to Concordia, St. Paul on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Back home for the Halloween weekend, Minot State hosts Minnesota State, Mankato on Friday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m., then hosts St. Cloud State at noon on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The Beavers home-stand is briefly broken up by a mid-week road trip for a non-conference contest at Minnesota State Moorhead on Nov. 4 before Minot State is back at the MSU Dome for NSIC matchups with Wayne State – which finished the 2024 season ranked No. 19 in the nation – at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, and Augustana at noon on Saturday, Nov. 8. The weekend matches against the Wildcats and Vikings will be the final two home regular-season matches for Minot State.
The Beavers then close out the 2025 regular season at Sioux Falls on Nov. 14, then at Southwest Minnesota State – which finished the 2024 season ranked No. 16 – on Nov. 15.
