Minot softball grabs top spot in Class A coaches poll

The Minot Majettes climbed to the top of Regular Season Coaches Poll #1 by the most narrow of margins. Fargo North and Williston were the biggest movers of the week, moving up three spots from their preseason positions.

Fargo Davies entered the poll for the first time this year, while West Fargo Horace is in the poll for the first time in program history.

The WDA holds the top three spots. Both the WDA and EDC have five teams in this week’s top 10.

Central Cass holds onto the top spot in the Class B Regular Season Coaches Poll #1. Fellow Region 1 team and defending state champion Kindred-Richland slots at No. 2. The only Region 2 team in the top 10 is Thompson, slotting at third.

Region 4 competitors Beulah and Velva-Drake/Anamoose are tied for the fourth spot in the polls.

Thompson and Velva-Drake/Anamoose were the biggest movers of the week, both jumping up two spots from the preseason polls. Washburn/Center-Stanton joins the poll for the first time this year, while Nedrose lands in the top 10 for the first time in program history.

The North Dakota High School Softball Coaches Polls are tabulated by North Dakota Softball All Stars. Every head coach in the state is afforded the opportunity to vote in the polls.
