Minot State climbs leaderboard to finish eighth
LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Minot State women’s golf team made a strong push in the final round of the tournament at the Wigwam Golf Club Blue Course, climbing five spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 8th place. The Beavers matched their opening-round score, shooting a 49-over 329 for a two-day total of 98-over 658.
Leading the charge, Lauryn Keller posted a 9-over 79 in the final round, moving up the leaderboard to tie for 13th place with teammate Holly Knudsen, who carded an 11-over 81. Both players finished the tournament at 20-over 160.
Zoe Banack recorded a 13-over 83, while Taylor Cormier finished with a 16-over 86, placing both players in a tie for 48th place with a total of 29-over 169. Abigail Goettle rounded out the scoring for Minot State, shooting a 26-over 96 to close out the tournament at 47-over 187.
Playing as an individual, Meadow Roberts posted a 23-over 93 in the final round and finished the event with a total of 56-over 196.
Minot State showed significant improvement on the final day, climbing five spots in the team standings. Westminster claimed the team title, finishing at 78-over 648, while Anaka Lysne of Minnesota-Crookston won the individual championship with a 13-over 153.
The Beavers will look to carry this momentum into their next tournament, the NSIC Conference Preview, set for March 31.
