WEST FARGO – Minot High boys swim and dive team made the trip east to participate in the 2025 North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA) Boys Swimming and Diving State Meet held over the weekend on Friday, March 7, and Saturday, March 8, in West Fargo.

After two days of competition, the hosts from West Fargo took first place with a 357 team score while Bismarck Century finished second with a 245 team score. Bismarck Legacy placed third with 232 while Fargo South was fourth with a 202 score.

Minot High finished in fifth place with a 172 team score.

The 2025 NDHSCA Boys Swimming & Diving Senior Athlete of the Year was named. Braxton Steele from Bismarck Legacy was honored. The 2025 NDHSCA Boys Swimming & Diving Coaches of the Year was Ben Smith of Jamestown.

Senior Magician Logan Hill had the top finishes for Minot High. Hill took second place in the 100-yard breaststroke at the meet with a 56.68 and a third place finish in the 200 individual medley with a 1:58.11 time.

In the 1-meter diving event, Tayson Solper posted a 387.65 for fifth place. The Minot High team of Carter Larson (Sr), Hill, Luke Neumann (So) and Peter Wake (Sr) placed fifth in the 200 medley relay with a 1:38.30 time. Larson placed fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.21 and was also sixth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.96 at the meet.

Freshman Andrew Francis took eighth in the 500 freestyle with a 5:03.08 time. The Minot High team of Wake, Otto Williamson (Sr), Neumann and Gavin King (So) placed ninth in the 200 freestyle relay. Neumann placed 13th in the butterfly while Francis also placed 14th in the 200 freestyle.

Junior Caden Brey was 14th in the 100 backstroke while Tyler Burns (Sr) was 14th in the 100 breaststroke for Minot High. The Magicians team of Francis, Barrett Hannegrefs (8th), Larson and Hill posted a 3:25.91 for 12th place in the 400 freestyle.
