Kenmare-Bowbells second, Berthold third at state tournament

JAMESTOWN – The 2025 NDHSAA Division B Girls Basketball State Tournament was held at the Jamestown Civic Center with the final games on Saturday, March 8, with the day highlighted by the participation of Kenmare-Bowbells and Berthold in the title contest and third place game.

Championship

No. 4 Benson County 69, No. 2 Kenmare-Bowbells 56

The title game of the Division B NDHSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament was played between Benson County and Kenmare-Bowbells with the Viking girls taking the win over the Honker girls.

Kaitlyn Maddock led Benson County with 26 points while Aubrey Kenner tallied 19 points. Lacie Fautsch added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Vikings.

Mashae Miller posted 14 points for the Honkers while Brea Chrest added 13 for Kenmare-Bowbells. Taya Aufforth scored 12 points and 13 rebounds while McKenna Mau added ten points as well.

Third Place

No. 1 Berthold 50, No. 3 Central McLean 46

The Bombers led by one after the first quarter and two at the half enroute to the four point win for third place at the state tournament.

The Bombers were led by Kasey Simons with 20 points while Addison Neshem added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Aubree Schepp tallied 14 points and five rebounds for Berthold in the win.

Morgan Snyder had 13 points with five rebounds while Adlyn Eng posted ten points and 12 rebounds in the effort. Aryah Ross recorded eight points and five rebounds for Central McLean in the effort.

Fifth Place

No. 6 Langdon Area/Munich 57, No. 8 Linton-HMB 56

The game came down to the end with Langdon Area/Munich winning fifth place with the one point win over Linton-HMB.

Seventh Place

No. 5 LaMoure-LM 69, No. 7 Grant County/Mott-Regent 52

The fifth seeds from LaMoure-LM took the win over the seventh seeds from Grant County/Mott-Regent in the seventh place game at the state tournament.
