All-State girls hockey players honored

Kari Gibb/MDN Minot High senior Syndee Bartsch (11) was named to the 2024-2025 NDHSCA All State Girls Hockey team.

After the state tournament most impressive hockey athletes were selected to be on the All-State team. The all-state team is made up of 24 athletes including three goaltenders, seven defenders and 14 forwards from teams all over the state.

Dickinson’s Olivia Vaagen, a senior, was named as one of three goaltenders. Fargo Davies’ Megan Suppes, junior, and Devils Lake’s Delaney Parker, one of two freshmen on the team, were the final two goaltenders for the all-state team.

Fargo North/South had two athletes make the all-state as defenders, Kenleigh Fischer and Jada Purdy, both juniors. Two seniors made the all-state team as defenders, Minot High’s Syndee Bartsch and Grand Forks’ Mya Mannaisau.

Devils Lake’s Julia McIvor and Williston’s Aubrey Nass, both juniors, were selected as defenders. One underclassman made the all-state team as a defender, Bismarck Legacy/Bismarck High’s Isabelle Ruud.

Fourteen athletes made the all-state team as forwards. Mandan had two athletes make the team, senior McKenzie Yantzer and junior Afton Leingang. Bismarck Legacy/Bismarck High also had two forwards make the team, two juniors, Ainsley Johnson and Alyssa Kikorian.

Olivia Kalbus and Kate Mccomb, both seniors from Fargo North/South made the all state team as forwards. Grand Forks had two athletes selected as forwards, Emily Common and Taylor Kilgore, both seniors.

Three more seniors made the team, West Fargo’s Reggan Bents, Jamestown’s Ellie Krueger and Bismarck Century’s Avery Matt. Bismarck Century had one more athlete make the team, freshman Macie Vig. Minot High’s Brynn Hanson and Dickinson’s Kyndall Peterson were the final two athletes to make the all state team as forwards.
