UND No. 16 in polls after unbeaten weekend

GRAND FORKS – Following an unbeaten weekend against St. Cloud State, the University of North Dakota (UND) remained at No. 16 in the USCHO.com Poll while vaulting up one spot to No. 16 in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live Poll, which were both released on Monday.

UND (13-10-2, 8-5-1 NCHC) is coming off its best weekend since Dec. 13-14, grabbing five out of a possible six points in the NCHC standings to remain in fourth place with 10 games remaining in the regular season.

The Fighting Hawks also jumped up to No. 22 in the Pairwise Rankings, which is used to select the field for the NCAA Tournament.

Multiple Fighting Hawks had solid performances as well, led by sophomore forward Jayden Perron’s trio of points (2G, 1A), freshman Jayden Jubenvill scoring his first collegiate goal and finishing with a plus-6 rating as well as sophomore goaltender Hobie Hedquist stopping a career-high 33 shots in Saturday’s 6-2 win.

North Dakota will look to continue its unbeaten streak this weekend against No. 20/RV Colorado College beginning on Friday night at 7:07 p.m.
