Minot North High School held their first ever state championship event Saturday, February 15. The Sentinels hosted the Division A and B and JV state cheer championships. In a fully packed gym these athletes put on their best show in many different events.

Minot North took the first place finish in the Time Out Class A Large, Game Day Class A Large, and Cheer/Dance Routine Class A Large events

The Minot North Navy team won first place in the stunt group event as well.

The Sentinels had a few ladies participate in individual events. Vivian Nygaard won the jump off event for Minot North.

Minot High had a few placers on the board as well. Minot High took the top two places for Top Sideline Class A, with Akina Pallera in first and Isabel Jaurez in second. The Majettes finished in third place for the All Around Class A with Averi Erck beating out the Sentinels Makynzie Rogers in third place. Minot High took second in the Time Out Class A Large event. The Majettes took another first place win in the Game Day Class A Large event.

The Majettes followed behind the Sentinels in the Stunt Group Class A with a second place win for Minot Maroon. Minot High’s Akina Pallera took second place in the Jump Off to finish out the event.

The Sentinels hosted 26 teams with over 300 competitors for state. Even though this was their state event these ladies are not done cheering. Most cheer teams are still preparing to attend post season tournaments to cheer on and support their schools.
