Magicians take pool dual over Fargo Davies, third at Century Invite

The Minot High boys swimming and diving team hosted Fargo Davies for a dual meet on Friday night, February 7, followed by a trip to Bismarck for the Century Invite on Saturday, February 8, as the regular season winds down.

The Magicians posted the 121-64 win at home for the Davies dual.

The Minot High team of Carter Larson, Logan Hill, Andrew Francis and Peter Wake posted the top time in the 200-yard medley relay at 1:43.03 while the B team of Caden Brey, Derek Oswald, Barrett Hannegrefs and Jaxon Lee took second for the Magicians with a 1:50.84 time. Minot High swept the top three spots with the C team of Hunter Barnard, Xavier Oswald, Jon Folk and Otto Williamson with a 1:54.05 time.

The Magicians took first place in the 200 freestyle relay with the team of Wake, Neumann, Hannegrefs and Hill with a 2:05.64 time. The Magicians also posted the best time in the 400 freestyle relay with Brey, Neumann, Francis and Larson as they posted a 3:32.13 time.

Larson placed first in the 50 freestyle with Wake in second. Larson was also first in the 100 backstroke for Minot High.

Hill placed first in the 200 individual medley for Minot High. He also took first in the 100 breaststroke. Wake was second in the 100 breaststroke as well.

Neumann took first in the 100 butterfly with Oswald in second and Hannegrefs in third place. Neumann was also second in the 200 freestyle with King in third place. Francis was second in the 500 freestyle with Brey in third place.

Tyler Burns was second in the 100 freestyle and Tim Sharp-Driver in third place. Taysom Solper placed second in the 1-meter dive with a 235.10 and Holden Wiliams was third with a 213.60 score.

Solper was the top finisher in the Century Invite with a third place finish on a 346.80 mark. The Magicians took third place at the Invite with a score of 230 with Century in first place with a 324 score and Bismarck Legacy in second with a 249 mark.

Minot High will attend the Mandan Invite on Saturday, February 15, and host Williston and Dickinson in a set of duals on February 20 before the Western Dakota Association championships on February 28.
