Knights victorious over Lakers at home
The Our Redeemer’s Knights hosted the Des Lacs-Burlington (DLV) Lakers at the Castle on Saturday, February 1. The Knights, holding steady in the polls, are ranked five for division B, the Lakers have remained unranked in division A. Our Redeemer’s fought their way to a home victory. After a close first quarter the Knights pulled away with the 65-42 win over the Lakers.
The first quarter started with the Knights Jake Altringer and Payten Lindbo each bringing three points from out deep. The Lakers kept pace with a 3-pointer from Colton Feller and two points from Levin Duchaine.
Wyatt Weekley with five points for Our Redeemer’s was followed by four points from DLB’s Jace Crockett. The Knights sustained a short lead over the Lakers throughout the first quarter of the game, both teams scoring back and forth.
Jake Schaefer and Drew Roedocker together brought in six more points for the Lakers. W. Weekley retaliated with seven more points for the Knights, teammate Nolan Schmidt earned Our Redeemer’s 2 final points in the first quarter of the game.
The Knights gained a 23-15 lead over the Lakers in the first quarter.
In the second quarter of the game Our Redeemer’s continued to build their lead over DLB. W. Weekley led the scoring for the Knights and brought in five points. J. Weekley followed with four points for Our Redeemer’s.
Des Lacs-Burlington’s Feller and Duchaine each made four points for the Lakers. Jace Crockett and Easton Anderson for the Lakers each brought in one point from the free throw line to finalize DLB’s 25 point score going into half time.
Our Redeemer’s Altringer and Jayden Marshall scored the final five points for the Knights. The Knights went into the second half of the game with a 37-25 lead over the Lakers.
The second half of the game Our Redeemer’s built up a lead the Lakers couldn’t come back from. Andrew Ebby gave the Knights four points quickly into the third quarter of the game. Lindbo and J. Weekly gave Our Redeemer’s score a boost with four more points.
The Lakers brought in ten points in the third quarter. Crockett earned the Lakers four points, Schaeffer and Kyler Fisher bought in the final six points for the Lakers. Our Redeemer’s responded with a 3-pointer from Bryce Vibeto and three foul points from Schmidt.
In the final quarter of the game with an unbeatable lead the Knights sent out some bench players for some court time before the state tournament. After some quick scoring from Duchaine, Feller and Fisher the Lakers also sent out their bench team to play.

The Knights have two home games and one away game left before the qualifying tournaments start. Tuesday, February 4 the Knights host Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood starting at 7:15 pm. Thursday, February 6, Our Redeemer’s will travel to play Berthold. Tuesday, February 18 the Knights will have their last home game against Powers Lake-Burke Central at 7:15 p.m.
