Knights defend castle against Mavericks
The Our Redeemer Knights hosted the Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood(MLS) Mavericks. Both teams hold high spots in the rankings. The Knights battled to pull off the 57-50 win over the Mavericks Tuesday, February 4.
The Knights started the game with a bucket from Andrew Eby off the jump. The Mavericks responded with a 3-pointer from Eli Undlin. The first quarter continued with both teams scoring back and forth.
Reid Morlock and Grady Nett each brought in two more points for MLS. Carson Nett finished the quarter for the Mavericks with three more points from on the arc.
Our Redeemers took the first quarter with the help of Wyatt and Jace Weekley. W. Weekley brought in six points followed by J. Weekley with five more points. Ebay and Nolan Schmidt brought in four additional points and gave the Knights a 17-10 lead.
The second quarter of the game MLS put up a good fight but could not steal the lead before halftime. Our Redeemers let whoever was open score. Collin Swenson and J. Weekley each brought in a 3-pointer. W. Weekley gave the knights two free throws.
The Mavericks managed to bring in 12 more points in the second quarter. Undlin gave MLS four points. Drayson Johnson and Morlock brought in six points together. The Mavericks trailed at the end of the second quarter 22-31 to the Knights.
The Knights used the third quarter of the game to build on their lead. The Mavericks only managed four points from both C. Nett and Morlock.
The Knights were making buckets all over inside the arc with Eby and Swenson in the paint. The two put in two points each. W. Weekley led the quarter with four points for Our Redeemers. J. Weekley and Schmidt secured the Knights a 34-30 lead going into the final quarter of play with four final points in the third quarter.
MLS tried to come back with the win in the final quarter of the game. Unable to be stopped, Morlock earned the Mavericks eight points. Payten Lindbo shot back with four points for the Knights. Eby and Swenson each brought in three more points to hold Our Redeemers’ lead.
MLS gave the ball back to Undlin to bring in five more points for the Mavericks. C. Nett attempted to seal the lead for the Mavericks with five final points. The Knights kept their lead with four final points from Jayden Marshall and W. Weekley.
The Knights will travel to Berthold Thursday, February 6. To finish out the regular season Our Redeemers will host their final home game and senior night Tuesday, February 18 starting at 7:15 p.m.
The Mavericks host TGU on Thursday, February 6, and travel to Parshall/North Shore-Plaza on Friday, February 8,for their next games.

The Lions traveled to play the Honkers. Bishop Ryan led 17-6 after one quarter of play and 41-15 at the half. The two teams played a tight third quarter with the Honkers outscoring the Lions 21-18, but still trailed to Bishop Ryan 59-36 going into the final quarter of play.
Kenmare/Bowbells were led by TJ Lucy with 18 points while Cohen Seime added 9 and Dawson Redding posted six in the effort.
Bishop Ryan was led by Jack Passa with 16 points, Hayden Seay with 15 and Izaac Strandlien with ten points in the win. Ramsey Walz and Mack Shean each added eight while Jett Lundeen posted seven in the win.
