MSU student-athletes post 3.245 GPA, 164 named to honor rolls
While the Beaver athletic teams provided highlights on the fields and courts during the first half of the academic year, the Minot State University (MSU) student-athletes also excelled in the classroom during the fall of 2024 with a phenomenal 3.245 department-wide GPA during the first semester of the academic year.
Of the 17 Beaver sports programs, 14 had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher, and 88 individual MSU student-athletes boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall 2024 semester.
The MSU men’s hockey team led the way with a 3.663 team GPA for the fall, with the Beaver softball team leading the women’s programs with a 3.583 GPA. The Beaver women’s hockey team also was above the 3.5-mark as a team with a 3.582 GPA, as was the MSU volleyball program as the team boasted a 3.516 GPA.
The Beaver women’s cross country team had a 3.492 team GPA, the men’s basketball team had a 3.412 team GPA, the Beaver baseball team had a 3.37 team GPA, the women’s basketball team had a 3.353 team GPA, the MSU men’s cross country team had a 3.344 team GPA, the men’s golf team had a 3.27 team GPA, the women’s golf team had a 3.261 team GPA, the women’s wrestling team had a 3.097 team GPA, the women’s track and field program had a 3.092 team GPA and the Beaver women’s soccer team had a 3.002 team GPA.
The MSU men’s track and field team had a 2.976 team GPA, the Beaver football team had a 2.666 team GPA, and the men’s wrestling team had a 2.487 team GPA.
While the entire Beaver athletic department excelled academically, individually 105 student-athletes were named to the Minot State President’s List as they had a 3.8 GPA or higher for the fall 2024 semester.
