MSU Men No. 1 again, Women No. 4 in ACHA National Poll
The Minot State University (MSU) men’s hockey team is back on top of the American College Hockey Association (ACHA) landscape.
The Beavers, who have won five straight to start the new calendar year and posted three shutouts during that stretch, moved up one spot in the first ACHA Division I poll of 2025 to regain the No. 1 spot in the nation.
MSU (23-4-1 overall, 17-1-0 MCH) last held the No. 1 spot in the Nov. 17, 2024 poll and now has been ranked No. 1 three times this season.
While the Beaver men moved up one spot, the MSU women climbed two places to No. 4 in the nation after a weekend sweep of No. 3 Maryville to start the new calendar year.
The top three in the ACHA Division I women’s poll remained the same with Liberty (Va.) at No. 1 followed by Adrian (Mich.) at No. 2 and Maryville (Mo.) No. 3. MSU was No. 4 and Midland rounded out the Top 5 at No. 5, falling one spot in the poll.
The MSU women (16-6-1, 13-5-0 WMCH) are on the road this weekend battling in Nebraska against the 5th-ranked Warriors on Friday and Saturday.
The MSU men also are on the road as the top-ranked Beavers play Friday and Saturday at unranked Waldorf.
