Minot High gymnastics posted highest score of season on road

DICKINSON – WHile the home team from Dickinson captured the team title, and Dickinson gymnast Aspen Roadarmel was the all-around winner, Minot High placed second and scored their highest team total with seven Western Dakota Association (WDA) teams that attended the event with Bismarck Century in third place.

” We were second behind Dickinson. We had some high individual scores for the season as well,” said Minot High head coach Robbie Werchau. “We have yet to compete at a meet with all of our girls. Gracyn Bergan didn’t complete tonight because she has a sprained ankle, but she is one of our top vaulters and is up there on floor.”

Pavyn Peterson was fourth in the All Around with a score of 35.800 while Adylin Belnap was sixth and Keira Davis was eighth.

“Cadence Bagi scored an 8.85 on bars for 8th place and an 8.7 on beam for 9th place. Adylin Belnap, Pavyn Peterson, and Keira Davis had scores of 9.05, 9.0, and 8.95 on bars which led to our highest bar score for the season 35.85,” said Werchau. “It was a good meet for us. It’s nice to be doing some of our best gymnastics at this time in the season.”

Keira Davis was third in the Vault with a 9.400 and Peterson tied for eighth. Belnap was fifth on the Uneven Bars with a 9.050 with Peterson sixth and Davis seventh.

“Floor continues to be our most consistent event with Adylin, Pavyn, Keira, and Lexi McLeod as our top four scorers, said Werchau

In the Floor Exercise, Belnap was third with a 9.175 while. Peterson was fifth with a 9.100 score. Davis finished sixth with a 9.050 for the team.

“Our next meet is at home on February 7 and will start at 5:30 p.m. at the Minot Auditorium,” said Werchau.
