BISMARCK — Bismarck Legacy hosted a dual against Minot High’s girls wrestling team on Friday. After a long fight though 11 weight classes Bismarck Legacy won the dual 44-30.

Ella Brown at 100 lbs. for Minot high started the dual with a quick pin in the second period over Legacy’s Journey Ennen. After an exciting first win Minot High lost the next three matches to Legacy.

At 106, Minot High’s Monica Boakye lost to Keeley Kainoa by major decision of 11-1.

Minot High’s 112, Khylie Schlotz, lost a long fight to Scelia Maneze of Bismarck in a major decision of 14-1.

At 118, Minot High sent out Fatimazahra Elbouab to wrestle Legacy’s Alicia Kenfack. Elbouab lost by pin to Kenfack in one minute and 50 seconds.

These three losses cost Minot High 14 team points. Leaving Minot High behind in team points 6-14.

The next two matches brought back some points for Minot High evening out the score.

Madisyn Racine at 124 for Minot High made an impressive pin in 44 seconds over Legacy’s Magan Zins.

Following Racine’s quick pin was Haleigh Carr for Minot High against Legacy’s Morgan Schneider at 130. Carr and Schneider fought through the first two periods of the match, with Carr securing the pin 34 seconds into the final period of the match. These two wins gave Minot High the close lead with a 18-14 score.

Minot High lost the next two matches by pin. Aleiya Cullinan from Legacy over Minot High’s Payton Russel at 136 by pin in the second period. Minot sent out Riley Hansen at 142. This match ended in a pin by Legacy’s Hannah Ryberg in the first period.

Kendal Bice for Minot High at 148 won by pin over Braelynn Felchle for Legacy in the first minute of the match. Minot High lost the next match at 155 by pin. Legacy’s Katurah Ottmar over Minot High’s Claire Fegley.

The Last three matches of the dual were forfeits. Legacy forfeited at 170 giving Minot High six more team points. Minot High forfeited the last two matches at 190 and 250 giving the final 12 points of the dual to Legacy. This ended the dual with Minot High losing 30-44.

The Minot high girls wrestling will be competing today in the Bismarck Rotary Tournament.
