Lady Demons haunt Lady Sentinels, take road win in Minot

Bismarck High made the trip north to take on the Lady Sentinels in a Western Dakota Association (WDA) matchup with both teams looking for a boost in the WDA standings. The visitors kept pace with Bismarck Century with the 74-53 win over Minot North.
In the first two minutes of play, the Demons went on a 7-0 run as Minot North was behind the curve on shooting percentages. The Lady Sentinels struggle to hit any shots to start the game.
Bismarck High also used a pesky full court press to cause turnovers that led to another run, 22-6 this time, for a 29-6 lead with 7:15 to play in the first half.
Minot North began to find a shooting rhythm and kept pace for roughly six minutes, but were still outscored 13-10 at the 1:20 mark. To end the first half, the Lady Sentinels outscored the visitors 5-3 with a burst of energy. Bismarck High led 45-21 at the break.
The continued press defense and a higher shooting percentage led to the Minot North loss despite having the scoring edge over the Demons in the second half 32-29
Minot North drops to 1-7 in WDA play and 2-9 overall on the year with only Dickinson below the Lady Sentinels in WDA standings at 0-7 for the Lady Midgets. Minot North makes the trip to Jamestown on Tuesday, January 21, for their next WDA action.
Bismarck moves to 4-3 in WDA play and 6-4 overall, The Lady Demons sit at sixth in the WDA standings. Bismarck High will host Dickinson on Tuesday, January 21, for their next game.
