Youth of Minot High gymnastics chasing depth

The Minot High gymnastics team is off and tumbling.

The last year that Minot High won the state championship was 2015 and that was between Dickinson titles. Between 2007 and 2015 the state title went to Minot High (five times) or Dickinson (four times). Since that stint, Dickinson has won eight titles in a row now.

The Midgets have three returning first team all state members and two second team all state members. Minot High had one all state first team honoree and two second team honorees.

Last year the Majettes finished in first place at the Fargo Crystal Classic with Kiera Davis taking the top slot in the all-around that meet. Davis, a junior this season, will need the help of the youth on the team.

Minot High had five 2nd place finishes, one third and one seventh from their schedule. The Majettes finished in third place at the Western Dakota Association (WDA) Championships and third place at the NDHSAA State Championships as well.

In addition to Davis, last year the team had Haley Conklin, Gracyn Bergan, Pavyn Peterson and Lexi McLeod. The roster at meets this year includes Adylin Belnap, Bailey McLeod, Laikyn Halverson, Amaya White, Cadence Bagi and China Ugobi.

The WDA Championships are February 21 this year. The 2025 NDHSAA State Gymnastics Meet will be held February 28-March 1, 2025, at Jamestown High School.
