The second annual Our Redeemer’s Christian School Boys Basketball Invitational tournament played four games on Friday to settle who will play each other for seventh, fifth, third place and the championship today.

The seventh place game will be at 1 p.m. today. The fifth place game will be at 2:30 p.m. and the third place match up will be at 4:30 p.m. at the Our Redeemer’s gym.

The championship game will pit the eighth ranked Knights against the second ranked Lions for bragging rights as the season continues to develop. The title tilt today will take place at 6 p.m.

Bishop Ryan 75, Ray 40

Ray had the best of intentions at the start of the game and the athletes on the court worked as if they would win the game. The Lions were too big on the inside and hit too many three-pointers to start the contest.

By the end of the first quarter of play, Bishop Ryan had built a 28-8 lead over the Jays.

Ray will face Central McLean in the third place game today.

Our Redeemer’s 61, Central McLean 50

In a hard fought contest between teams that were both recognized by the coaches poll this week, the Knights edged the Cougars in the second semifinal of the day.

Our Redeemer’s will take on cross town rivals- Bishop Ryan- in the final today while Central McLean will hit the hardwood for third place with Ray.

South Prairie-Max 56, Tioga 46

In the consolation bracket, the Royals were able to hold off the Pirates to advance to the fifth place game today. South Prairie-Max will take on Surrey while Tioga will face Parshall/North Shore-Plaza for seventh place to start the action today.

Surrey 80, Parshall/North Shore-Plaza 74

The Mustangs tamed the Braves in a game with several momentum ebbs and flows. With just under three minutes to play, Surrey led 73-57 until Parshall/North Shore-Plaza fought back to within six. In the end the clock ran out before the Braves could close the gap any further.

Surrey will take on South Prairie-Max for fifth place while the Braves will face the Pirates for seventh place.
