Kari Gibb/MDN Minot High junior Yvonne Slind (22) had a goal in the second period against Fargo Davies on Saturday, December 14, as the Majettes wrapped up their five game road marathon.

FARGO – Over 2,270 miles. That was the total of the five games played by the Majettes last week.

The Minot High girls hockey team wrapped up the statewide travel plan with game five against the hosting Fargo Davies Eagles on Saturday, December 14, and after starting the tour of the state with two losses, finished with three wins including the 2-1 contest at Fargo Davies.

Minot High got the scoring started with a goal at the 15:45 mark of the first period of play. Brynn Hanson found the net on an even strength shot for the 1-0 lead. Julia Stoner was awarded the assist on the play.

Davies had the only penalty in the first period and the two teams were equal with 12 shots on goal for both hosts and visitors.

Fargo Davies found the net first in the second period at the 3:24 mark on an even strength shot by Ellery Wilcox to tie the game 1-1 at that point.

Hanson found teammate Yvonne Slind at the 12:54 mark and Slind put the Majettes in the lead again on a power play goal with the 2-1 score that would be the final score in the match.

The Majettes had three penalties in the second period while the Eagles had two. Each team had three shots on goal in the second period as well.

Fargo Davies had two penalties in the third period of play and Minot High recorded 12 shots on goal compared to five for the hosts in the third period of play. Both goalkeepers were perfect in net for the final period of play.

Faith Seekings worked the net for the Majettes and stopped 22 of the 23 shots she faced for the win.

Minot High will host Jamestown on Friday, December 20, in a break from the travels this week. The Majettes will take a shorter trip to Bismarck to play Legacy-Bismarck High on December 30 for the final game of the 2024 portion of the 2024-2025 season.
