Majette grapplers win second at third Border Brawl
ASHLEY – The Minot High girls wrestling team continues to show talent, strength and resolve with a second place finish at the third annual Border Brawl in Ashley, North Dakota, over the weekend.
Dickinson won their first ever team title at the event with a 199 team score while Minot High posted 169.5 for the second place finish. There were four other Western Dakota Association (WDA) teams in attendance as well.
At the 100-lbs classification, Majette Ella Brown posted a 3-0 record and won first place. Her title bout was with teammate Brookln Ost who finished second with the 2-1 mark for the meet.
Madisyn Racine went 3-0 and took first place for the Majettes at 118 as well. Maycee Boyce went 2-0 for Minot High and claimed first place at 155 at the meet. Jade’ence Fletcher rounded out the first place finishers for the Majettes with a 3-0 run at 250 for the event.
Monica Boakye was second at 106 with a 3-1 mark for Minot High. At 112, Khylie Schlotz posted a 4-1 record for third place. At 148, Claire Fegley posted a 3-1 mark and took third at the event. Payton Russell went 2-2 and took fourth place at 136 for Minot High as well.
The Majettes have the holidays off and will hit the mat again on January 2 at the Rumble on the Red next.
