Magicians shutout Braves for win at Maysa Arena

The Minot High boys hockey team started fast and kept the pressure on Mandan from start to finish for the 7-0 win in Western Dakota Association (WDA) action on Tuesday, December 3, at the Maysa Arena.

The Magicians started the scoring early with three goals in the first period of play. Rylan Roteliuk scored two of the three goals with Paxton Packulak getting his first varsity goal.

The Magicians added four more goals and shutout the Braves for the win. With the victory, Minot High is 2-0 with 12 goals for and have allowed only one goal scored on the new season.

Minot High will travel to Bismarck Century on December 10 for their next WDA match and host Dickinson on December 14 for their next game at the Maysa Arena.

Bismarck Century JV 7, Hazen-Beulah 4

Each team scored at least one goal in each period of play with the Patriots edging the Northstars by one goal in the first period and two goals in the third period for the win.

Century shot 27 goals in the game compared to Hazen-Beulah with 19 and the Patriots had two penalties assessed compared to one for the Northstars.

Bismarck Legacy 2

Legacy held Jamestown to a 1-1 tie until the third period when the Blue Jays scored two goals compared to the Sabers one to edge Legacy for the win.

The Sabers had 33 shots on goal over Jamestown’s 20 in the match. There were nine total penalties in the game with Legacy only owning three of them.
