Magicians move up two, have four ranked grapplers

To start the 2024-2025 NDHSAA boys wrestling season, Minot High was ranked tenth and had no wrestlers ranked in the top eight in any weight category. With some matches and wins, the team was ranked eighth this week and now has four grapplers ranked in this week’s coaching polls.

Minot High senior Noah Bledsoe leads the list for the Magicians. Bledsoe is currently ranked second in the 172-lbs weight class.

Fargo Davies wrestler Wyatt Kosidowski is ranked first. From the Western Dakota Association (WDA) schools, Mandan’s Tate Sailer is in third place behind Bledsoe.

Bledsoe is 2-0 on the stat sheets within the WDA matches in the early season.

At 215, Minot High senior Lincoln Brooks is now ranked fifth with WDA grapplers in four of the top eight coaches favorites. Brooks is also 2-0 on the stat sheets for WDA action this year.

Minot High junior Evan Berg is at seventh in the 189-lbs classification while freshman Tayven Blackaby breaks into the top eight at 121 for the Magicians.

The Magician grapplers will be at the Valley City Invitational on Saturday, December 21, to close out the 2024 calendar portion of their season. Minot High will attend the Rumble on the Red scheduled for January 2 to start the new year.
