Legacy-Bismarck High edge Minot High girls in defensive battle

In a defensive battle with plenty of hitting, Bismarck Legacy-Bismarck High faced Minot High on the ice at Maysa Arena in Western Dakota Association (WDA) hockey. For three periods, each team spent more time in the penalty box than putting the puck in the net.

In the second period, Legacy-Bismarck High skater Alyssa Krikorian scored a shot at the 12:17 mark- assisted by Avery Sick- for the only goal of the night for either team. The shot was even strength

The Majettes had one penalty in the first period and two in the third compared to the Sabers with two penalty timeouts in the third period.

Promesa Phelps faced 19 shots on the night and stopped all but one for Minot High. Rylee Otto was a perfect 14-for-14 in the net for Legacy-Bismarck High on the night.

With the loss, Minot High has started the season 0-3 with a WDA record of 0-2 in the first two weeks. The Majettes travel to Fargo North-South on Friday, December 6, and then take on Grand Forks and Fargo Davies on the road December 13 and 14 respectively.

The next home match for Minot High will be December 20 when the Majettes host Jamestown at the Maysa Arena.

Mandan 4, Williston 0

The Braves hosted the Coyotes and recorded a shutout in the process with two goals scored in the second and third periods of play for the win.

Mandan had 13 shots on goal in the first period, 15 shots in the second period with six in the third for 34 total shots compared to 12 for Williston. Each team had two penalties during the game. The first three goals for the Braves were on even strength while the fourth was on a power play situation.

Fargo Davies 3,

West Fargo United 0

The Eagles were able to shoot with more accuracy over United for the 3-0 win. Neither team found the net in the first period, but Davies was able to hit once in the second and twice in the third period for the hard fought shutout.

Fargo Davies was outshot by West Fargo United 25-to-21 in the match. The Eagles were a perfect 25-of-25 for saves while United was 18-for-21 in the net.

Davies had the only two penalties on the night.
