MSU women drop both home games to Adrian College
The Lady Beavers hosted fourth ranked Adrian College in a two game series, starting on Friday, November 15, with the second game on Saturday, November 16, at Maysa Arena.

The Minot State University (MSU) Beavers women’s hockey team fell to #4 Adrian College on Saturday, November 16, in a shootout. Regulation and the overtime period weren’t enough in this game as the two teams went into the shootout with a score of 2-2.
Adrian College would go on to win the shootout 1-0 to secure the win over the Beavers.
With the shootout loss, the #6 Beavers fall to 10-4-1 on the season, while #4 Adrian college improves to 13-3-1.
The first period was a quiet one as each goalie held both teams scoreless. Morgan Baker held Adrian College scoreless with 10 saves on 10 shots on goal, and Amanda Storey held MSU scoreless with 12 saves on 12 shots on goal.
Adrian College got on the board first on a goal scored by Makenzie Villiard at 18:33 into the second period to take a 0-1 lead. Amanda Storey held the Beavers scoreless in the second period with 8 saves on 8 shots on goal.
The Beavers knotted the game up at 1-1 at 3:46 into the third period on a power play goal scored by Journey Miller. Adrian College took a 1-2 lead on a power play goal scored by Hailey Wiltshire at 5:35 into the period. MSU would once again tie the game up at 2-2 on a power play goal scored by Journey Miller, her second goal of the game, at 8:49 into the period.
Regulation would not be enough as the two teams would head to overtime.
Neither team would be able to find the back of the net in the overtime period as the two goaltenders once again played an incredibly strong period.
Morgan Baker tallied 5 saves on 5 shots on goal for the Beavers, and Amanda Storey tallied 9 saves on 9 shots on goal for Adrian College. With a 2-2 tie through overtime, the game would head to a shootout.
Paige Ackerman, Payton Lang (2) and Krissy Rink were credited with assists in the game. Morgan Baker had an incredibly strong performance in goal for the Beavers, tallying 33 saves on 35 shots on goal.
The Beavers will be back in action on the road in Lynchburg, Virginia for a three-game series against #1 Liberty University. Game one is on Thursday, November 21, at 7:30 pm, game two is on Friday, November 22, at 6:30 pm, and game three is on Saturday, November 23, at 6:30 pm.

The MSU Beavers women’s hockey team battled against #4 Adrian College in a 2024 National Championship rematch on Friday, November 15, but eventually fell by a final score of 2-4.
With the loss, the #6 Beavers fall to a record of 10-4-0, while #4 Adrian College improved their record to 12-3-1. The Beavers take on Adrian College in game two of this two-game series on Saturday, November 16, at 3:45 pm at the Maysa Arena.
The first period was a back-and-forth affair that ended in both teams having scored a goal each.
Adrian College got the scoring started early with a goal scored by Genessie Williams at 1:41 into the period to put Adrian ahead 0-1. The Beavers knotted the game up at 1-1 on a goal scored by Karlyn Gudz at 10:47 into the period. The goal scored by Gudz was her first goal of the season.
The second period was a relatively quiet one as there was only one goal scored in the period. Adrian College took a 1-2 lead on a goal scored by Macy Piche at 4:22 into the period. The goaltender for Adrian College, Rieley Jessie-Gerelli, held the Beavers scoreless in the second period tallying 8 saves on 8 shots on goal.
Adrian College found the back of the net at 6:11 into the third period on a goal scored by Tess McKerrow to put Adrian ahead 1-3. Adrian College increased their lead to 1-4 at 9:11 into the period on a goal scored by Genessie Williams for her second goal of the game.
The Beavers pulled within 2 on a goal scored by Makenna Beard at 15:11 into the third period to make the score 2-4 in favor of Adrian College. The Beavers battled hard for the remainder of the period, but eventually came up short, falling to Adrian by a final score of 2-4.
Cameron Schmidt, Makena Welby and Mia Mckee were credited with assists in the game. The Beaver’s penalty kill unit was a perfect 6 for 6 on kills in the match-up.
