MSU men travel to Nebraska

The Minot State University (MSU) Beavers men’s hockey team is headed to Fremont, Nebraska for a two-game series against #19 Midland University.

The Beavers take on Midland on Friday, November 15, at 7:30 pm for game one, and on Saturday, November 16, at 7:30 pm for game two. The Beavers are currently ranked #2 with a record of 11-1-1, and Midland is currently ranked #19 with a record of 8-8-1.

The Beavers are coming off of a huge win back on Tuesday, November 12, against in-state rival #1 University of Jamestown. The Beavers took down #1 Jamestown by a final score of 6-1 to win in convincing fashion.

The Beavers are currently on an 8-game winning streak and are looking to add to that streak against Midland. The Beavers will be looking to have history repeat itself when they take on Midland this weekend.

Historically, the Beavers have looked forward to seeing Midland on their schedule as the Beavers are 12-0 against the Warriors in their 12 match-ups. The last time these two teams met was back on January 20, 2024 where the Beavers took down Midland by a final score of 8-0.

Jay Buchholz is the leading forward in points scored with 17 points on the season. Colby Joseph, Reid Arnold, and Joey Moffatt are the leading forwards in goals scored with all three having eight goals on the season.

Austin Clyne is the leading defensemen in points scored with eight points on the season. Logan Rands is the leading defensemen in goals scored with five goals on the season. Jake Anthony leads the way in goal for the Beavers with a record of 6-1-1 and a save percentage of 0.919.

Following this weekend’s two-game series against #19 Midland University, the Beavers will be back in action in Chesterfield, Missouri for the Maryville Showcase.

On Thursday, November 21, the Beavers will take on the University of Arizona at 5:15 pm. On Friday, November 22, the Beavers will take on Liberty University at 3:15 pm. On Saturday, November 23, the Beavers will take on Maryville University at 3:45 pm.
