Minot North takes three sets against TMCHS
Turtle Mountain Community High School (TMCHS) played their second Minot team this week after traveling to Minot North High School Tuesday, October 22, to take on the Sentinels on Thursday, October 24.
Minot North started on top, beating the Braves 25-13 in the first set. In the second set, the Sentinels breezed past TMCHS 25-9. The Braves battled in the third set falling by a score of 25-20. Minot North took the win 3-0.
Minot North is now 3-5 in the West Region. TMCHS is 0-9.
Minot North will host Williston on Thursday, October 31, for their next matchup. TMCHS will travel to Devils Lake on Monday, October 28, for their next matchup.
Minot High 3, Williston 2
Minot High traveled to Williston where they took the Coyotes to five sets ultimately coming out on top by a score of 3-2. Williston won the first set 25-22. Minot High responded in the second, winning 25-18. In the third set, the Majettes won 25-13. Williston responded in the fourth set winning 25-21. In the fifth and final set, Minot High won 15-12.
For the Majettes Mackenzie Dugner led the team with 43 assists, three kills, three aces and 15 digs. Sydney Aberle led with 14 kills, four digs and three blocks. Mya Bogden had 14 digs, one kill and two aces. Kynsli Gillmore finished with 13 kills and three digs.
Minot High will host Bismarck Legacy on Tuesday, October 29 for their next matchup.
WF Sheyenne 3, GF Red River 0
The top ranked West Fargo Sheyenne volleyball team had little issue with the sweep over Grand Forks Red River 25-13, 25-13 and 25-15 on their home court.
Shanley 3, GF Central 0
The second ranked volleyball team in the state traveled to Grand Forks Central and swept the hosts 25-14, 25-19 and 25-18 to keep pace in the rankings.
Century 3, Mandan 0
The third ranked team from Bismarck Century made the trip to Mandan and took the sweep 25-14, 25-10 and 25-15 as the ranked teams kept the winning pace regardless of home or road games.
WF Horace 3, Devils Lake 0
The fourth ranked team from West Fargo Horace hosted Devils Lake and beat the visitors 25-21, 25-10 and 25-6 making the sweeping trend four for four for the ranked teams.
Bismarck High 3, St. Mary’s 0
The fifth ranked Demons traveled to St. Mary’s and took the 25-19, 25-22 and 25-19 win as all five ranked teams swept their opponents regardless of home or away games.
