Bishop Ryan dominates Stanley during last regular season matchup

Bishop Ryan hosted Stanley at Herb Parker Stadium Friday night, October 18. Both teams started off scoring strong going into the second quarter with the Lions leading by a score of 20-14.

Bishop Ryan scored one more touchdown going into halftime with a score of 26-14.

After halftime Bishop Ryan’s offense began to dominate, leading 40-14 with three minutes left in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Bishop Ryan scored again with 11 minutes left making the score 47-14.

The Lions didn’t stop there, scoring another touchdown in the fourth with two minutes left leading by a score of 54-14. The final score was 54-14.

The region 3, #2 Bishop Ryan team will be hosting region 4, #3 Dickinson Trinity for the first round of playoffs on Saturday, October 26. The Lions faced Trinity in the second game of the season and beat the Titans 35-14 in that contest.

Dickinson Trinity will bring a regular season record of 6-3 with them to take on Bishop Ryan at 7-1 whose only loss was at the second ranked Aggies in Velva.

Bottineau 35, Carrington 28

The Carrington Cardinals made the trip north to face the Bottineau Braves on the gridiron. The home team led 21-15 at the half. Both teams scored in the third quarter with the Braves holding on to the 35-22 lead.

Carrington rallied with a bid to come from behind. The lead was 35-28 with seven minutes to play in the game. The home team tightened and grounded the visiting Cardinals for the 35-28 win.

Both Bottineau and Carrington will travel to start the playoffs in round one. The Braves will travel to Central Cass and the Cardinals will face top ranked Kindred in round one on Saturday, October 26.

Lisbon 28, Thompson 8

The Lisbon Broncos hosted the Thompson Tommies on Friday evening and defended the home turf with the 28-8 win.

Jordan Bittner began the scoring for the home team in the first quarter with a 19-yard run while Aiden Hinkle ran in the two point conversion.

The Tommies responded in the second quarter when Karter Peterson caught a 22-yard pass from Gavin Krogstad for the score. The two connected again for the two point conversion to put eight points on the scoreboard.

Lisbon scored twice in the second quarter on a 40-yard run and a 30-yard run- both by Eli Lyons with two failed point after attempts. The Broncos took the 20-8 lead into the break. Neither team was able to find the endzone in the third quarter of play.

Lyons added one final score in the fourth quarter on an 11-yard scamper and Hinkle added the two point conversion for the 28-8 final.
