Teams vie for tourney seeding
Many local volleyball teams are in the mix and fighting for seeding at either the top or on the cusp of post season tournament action. Wins and losses are as critical now as ever.
Minot High 3, Mandan 1
The Majettes traveled to Mandan to face the Braves in Western Dakota Association (WDA) volleyball action. Minot High sits at second place in the WDA standings and continues to win to keep pace with the top team, Bismarck Century.
The Majettes beat the Braves 25-14, 25-18, 18-25 and 25-19 for the win.
Reagan Terrel had 21 digs while Mya Bogden added 12 and Mackenzie Dufner recorded ten in the win. Leah Walter had ten kills while Sydney Aberle added nine and Kynsli Gillmore had eight kills as well.
Mandan was led by Lilly Thompson with ten kills, Hadley Harris with 23 digs and Ellie Thomsen with 15 assists in the effort.
Minot North 3, Jamestown 2
In WDA action, the Blue Jays traveled to face the hosting Sentinels. Minot North would battle to a 25-21, 25-23, 11-25, 16-25, 15-11 win over the visiting team.
Rugby 3, TGU 0
The Panthers hosted the match and took the win 25-19, 25-22 and 25-14 in the hard fought battle.
Lacie Deplazes had six kills and two blocks to go with her 17 digs. Ava Jacobson had 12 assists while Brylee Amyotte and Sam Blessum each had 14 digs in the win.
TGU was led by Ashley Martodam with 11 kills, five blocks and two aces.
New Rockford-Sheyenne 3, Drake-Anamoose 0
Drake-Anamoose 3, Four Winds-Minnewaukan 0
Two games in two days for Drake-Anamoose with one win and one loss. The Monday meeting between Drake-Anamoose and Four Winds-Minnewaukan was 25-16, 25-20 and 25-13 while the Tuesday meeting with New Rockford-Sheyenne was a 25-22, 25-22 and 25-22 win for New Rockford-Sheyenne.
Mariah Mack led both nights with 26 kills. Evelyn Isaak had 13 kills and five blocks. Olivia Fahy had 24 assists and seven aces while Bella Boucher added 26 assists.
