MSU track & field student-athletes named to Academic All-District Team
Six of Minot State’s standout performers in cross country and track and field were honored by the College Sports Communicators today for their outstanding competitive and academic performance this past year as each was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
Earning this special honor were distance runners Jacob Jensen, Sidra Sadowsky, Emery Smith, and Nicole Reeves along with throwers Samuel Kreins and Dallas Reese.
To be named to the Academic All-District Team a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore who is in their second season with their team, must have finished in the Top 50 in the Central Region in cross country or be ranked in the Top 50 in an individual track and field event in the Central Region and must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
Jensen is a recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science from Belcourt, North Dakota who ranked No. 27 in the Central Region in the indoor mile with a time of 4 minutes, 13.91 seconds and 32rd in the indoor 5,000 meters with a 15:07.20 time.
Samuel Kreins is a recent graduate with a degree in Finance from Reno, Nevada who ranked No. 19 in the Central Region in the outdoor shot put with a throw of 53 feet, 1 inch, 28th in the hammer throw with a mark of 169-7, 32nd in the indoor shot put with a distance of 49-1 and 50th in the weight throw with a 51-6.5 mark.
Dallas Reese is a senior Art Education major from Wolf Point, Montana who ranked No. 35 in the Central Region in the outdoor shot put with a throw of 49-9 and 44th in the indoor shot put with a 47-7 distance.
Sidra Sadowsky is a junior Exercise Science and Rehabilitation major from Hettinger, North Dakota who ranked No. 19 in the Central Region and 66th in the nation in the indoor 800 meters with a time of 2:14.11, was 20th in the outdoor 800 meters in the region with a time of 2:13.64, 27th in the indoor mile in 5:04.29 and 44th in the outdoor 1,500 meters with a 4:43.82 time.
Emery Smith is a sophomore Exercise Science and Rehabilitation major from North Salt Lake, Utah who ranked No. 32 in the Central Region in the outdoor 10,000 meters with a time of 39:05.86 and was 40th in the indoor 5,000 meters with a 18:19.06 time.
Nicole Reeves is a sophomore Special Education major from Anaheim, California who ranked No. 11 in the Central Region in the outdoor 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:07.56 in the event.
