Majettes unbeaten streak continues over Saints

Kari Gibb/MDN Minot High sophomore Julia Lewis (9) works the ball into the net past Bismarck St. Mary’s junior Grace Jackson (22) in a rain-delayed match

The Bismarck St. Mary’s Saints were the latest team to attempt winning, or even scoring against Minot High girls soccer. Despite rain and lightning delays that pushed the game for nearly an hour, things finally warmed up as the home team Majettes won 10-0 in the end.

With only three minutes gone in the first half, Jayva KcKibbin scored off a pass from Morgan Forthun. Ten minutes later, Emerson Perrin hit a goal from a Maicee Burke pass. The two teammates reversed roles three minutes later as Burke scored by way of a Perrin pass.

At the 18th and 27th minute marks, Perrin hit two penalty kicks to make the score 5-0 in the game. In the final minute of the first half of play, Jayda Schall scored off a Julia Lewis assist for Minot High to take a 6-0 lead into the half.

Minot is the top team in the Western Dakota Association (WDA) standings with Jamestown at second. The Majettes have scored 97 goals and allowed zero in WDA play. Jamestown has scored 33 and allowed three in WDA play.
