District 12 awards revealed

Following the conclusion of the District 12 girls’ basketball tournament, the District 12 awards were announced, as athletes, coaches, and seniors were rewarded for their competitiveness throughout district play during the 2022-23 season.

For some, the conclusion of the tournament means the end of the season is here. For others, they have earned an opportunity to inch closer to a state tournament bid and will compete in the Region 6 Tournament beginning on Feb. 20 at the Minot State Dome.

Here are the awards that were given out following the District 12 Tournament:

All-District 12 Team: Mia Aberle (Surrey), Elise Alrtinger (ORCS), Maya Vibeto (ORCS), Aubrey Griedl (ORCS), Skotti Beck (South Prairie-Max), Azjiah Trader (South Prairie-Max), Logen Ystaas (DLB), Kaylee Werner (DLB), Jamie Thompson (MLS), Magee Rovig (Bishop Ryan), Mya Neshem (Berthold), Emma Jones (Glenburn).

District 12 Senior Athletes of the Year: Magee Rovig (Bishop Ryan) and Elise Altringer (ORCS).

District 12 Coach of the Year: Hart Andes (ORCS).

Sportsmanship Award: Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood.

Best School Spirit Award: Our Redeemer’s.

Lake Darling Conference Champions: South Prairie-Max.
