Legislative bills offer no true reform

To those of you who voted against reforming property taxes as proposed in Measure 4, are you paying attention to the ND Legislative Session? Are you being active and watching how our Representatives and Senators are voting? What they are spending your tax money on (or not spending it on)? Have you emailed any with your suggestions, support or opposition on bills? What plan has the coalition Keep It Local (KIL-ND) and their supporters come up with since M4 was defeated with “no plan”? Why does KIL-ND now want to take away local control by supporting a cap of 3% on political subdivisions?
There are only a few main surviving property tax bills left. Unfortunately, none of them offer true reform and each has limited relief along with placing financial restrictions on our Cities, Counties and Townships. It’s time to get involved and contact your State representatives and let them know it’s not too late to devise a plan that gives the tax payers what they promised when they opposed Measure 4.
