It’s time for vote of no confidence
Deven Mantz
Minot
This is a heartbreaking moment for the constituents of Minot.
First and foremost, every single one of our representatives has turned their backs on our children by voting against providing meals for those in schools throughout the state. They have framed this as a choice between property tax relief and feeding our children, but we refuse to accept that false contrast. The budget has billions of dollars to give out, yet they chose to deny our children the meals they deserve.
Secondly, our representatives have shamefully supported a resolution urging the federal Supreme Court to overturn a landmark decision that grants the LGBTQ+ community the right to marry. Yes, you heard that correctly — they are engaging in blatant discrimination. Many of these legislators are or have been married themselves, yet they seek to strip away the fundamental rights of a marginalized group simply seeking to live in peace in our community.
These individuals are not just faceless politicians; they are real estate agents, pastors, business owners, and even a former Miss North Dakota. It’s time to hold them accountable. I urge you to reach out to them, voice your discontent, and stop supporting them — both at the ballot box and in their businesses. Our community deserves better.
