Ramona Cain

Ramona Joan (Feist) Cain, 95, died peacefully April 5, 2025 after a short illness at Tucson Medical Center, Tucson, Ariz.
Ramona was born in Velva, N.D., Nov. 14, 1929, to Joseph and Ruth (Olson) Feist. She grew up on the family farm with her six siblings. She graduated from Velva High School and Trinity School of Nursing (Minot, N.D.) as a Registered Nurse.
In 1951 she married Manford Cain and moved to Bottineau, N.D. where they purchased a dairy farm.
Manford taught Veterans Agriculture and Ramona worked as a nurse at Saint Andrew’s Hospital. They had three children: Manford (Joey), Susan and Mary Beth.
In 1961 they moved to Mesa, Ariz., where she lived until after Manford’s death in 2002. She then moved to Las Vegas to be near her daughter Susan. In 2023 she moved to Tucson to live with her daughter Mary Beth.
Ramona loved spending summers at their farm near Bottineau where she enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and visiting with friends and family. Ramona was known for her generosity, warm heart, and her love of children and family.
She is survived by her daughters: Susan (Jack) McGuire of Las Vegas, Nev., Mary Beth Bustamante of Tucson, Ariz., brothers: Donovan (Margie) Feist, and Curt (Bonnie) Feist; sister-in-law Mary Feist, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husband Manford, son Manford (Joey), son-in-law Omar Bustamante, parents Joseph and Ruth Feist, siblings Phyllis (Glendon) Kriese, Marcella (Joe) Ramsbacher, Neal (Virginia) Feist and Eugene Feist, father and mother-in-law Charles and Mary Alice Cain.
