Jesse Robert Nelson, devoted husband and father, passed away on Monday, March 24th, 2025, in Anamoose, North Dakota. He was 43 years old.
Jesse was born to Paul and Carolyn Nelson on September 25th, 1981. He grew up playing in the peach orchards and swimming in the river amongst the mountains in Palisade, Colorado. After graduating at Palisade High School, Jesse furthered his education at Mesa State.
Jesse spent most of his life in Colorado but eventually made his way up to North Dakota along with his beloved dog, Gunnar. There he met and married the love of his life, Ellie, with whom he had two sons, Noah and David.
Jesse enjoyed working with his hands and somehow continued to find himself working in the food industry. He proudly worked at various fast-food places and eventually found himself the owner of a Black Jack Pizza. Later, he managed several peach orchards for Palisade Produce. His character as a manager always found loyal staff that would follow him from place to place. Jesse’s final work adventure was in North Dakota, working as the General Manager at Pizza Ranch in Minot.
Jesse loved working on his house and building things, especially Legos. He enjoyed collecting Volkswagen Beetles, playing the guitar and writing songs. Jesse loved to draw, play basketball, and spend time with his friends and family. He loved watching his teams, the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets. He enjoyed the simple things in life, coffee, good food, and great conversation. Jesse was all about love, all who knew him had stories of how he helped them out whenever they were in need. He was a man of faith, and his character reflected that of Christ.
Jesse’s proudest accomplishment in life was becoming a husband and father. Jesse is survived and cherished by his wife Ellie Nelson; two young sons, Noah Nelson and David Nelson; parents Paul Nelson and Carolyn Nelson; his four brothers, Jeremy (Melissa) Nelson, Jacob Nelson, Judd (Devon) Nelson, Jarrett (Crystal) Nelson; two sisters Jill (Lance) Case, Angelica (Max) Belknap, along with many nieces and nephews.
