Elaine Annette Solheim, 85, Wichita, KS, died Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at her home.
Elaine was born on Dec. 4, 1939, the daughter of Theodore and Grace (Stromstad) Solheim, in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in Mohall of Hamerly Township through the eighth grade. The family moved to Minot, and she graduated from Dakota Lutheran High School in 1958. She continued her education and attended Minot Business College where she graduated with an associate’s degree in business administration.
Elaine was once married to William Dailey. They were blessed with two sons, Edward and Donald. They lived in various places while Bill was in the US Air Force.
Elaine moved back to Minot in 2008 and began working as a census taker. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot where she was involved in the Church Circle and Sons of Norway.
Elaine enjoyed genealogy and listening to music. You could often find her reading a good book or tending to her garden. She will be missed by all who shared her life.
Elaine is survived by her son Donald (Jeannie) Dailey, Wichita, KS, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, son Edward and the father to her children William.
Celebration of Life Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Visitation: Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment: Hamerly Lutheran Cemetery, rural Mohall later in the Spring 2025.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church Ladies Group or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
