David Henry Howery, 76, rural Antler, died Friday, April 25, 2025, at a Minot hospital.

He was born July 23, 1948, in Westhope, the fourth child of George and Laura (Ledoux) Howery. He graduated from Antler High School in 1967.

David married Catherine Joyce Fjeldahl on Nov. 14, 1970, at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, rural Antler. To this union, one daughter, DeAnn was born. David worked for Bergstrom Construction for many years prior to starting his own company, Howery’s Construction. In addition, he also owned and operated Howery’s Welding.

David was very musical and creative. Besides singing, playing the guitar and organ, he also made CDs of his music. He loved working with wood and built many items for his wife and home including canisters, shelves, tables and furniture for other family members. In addition, he also carved a number of diamond willow canes, lamps and tables, many of which he gifted to family and friends.

Family: wife, Catherine Howery, rural Antler; granddaughter, Catherine Sharee (Ryan) Scott, Westhope; great-grandchildren, Amilla and Grayson Scott, Westhope; sister, Elaine Feland, Mohall; brother-in-law, Kenneth Tofteland, Antler; sister-in-law, Mary Fjeldahl, Minot; and a number of nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, DeAnn Howery; brothers, Wilfred and Duane Howery; sister, Glenda Tofteland; brothers-in-law, Gabriel Feland, David, Peter and Roger Fjeldahl.

Funeral: 1 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, rural Antler.

Burial: Antler Community Cemetery, Antler.
