Audrey Adele Hanson, 92, Minot, formerly of Granville, died Sunday, March 9, 2025 in a Minot Nursing Home.
Audrey was born September 22, 1932 in Bantry, ND, the daughter of Wolford and Edith (Beare) Wagar. She was raised and educated at Bantry and attended Granville Schools. She was employed as a Nurse’s Aide at Trinity Hospital prior to being married to Gay E. Hanson on November 11, 1951 at Fairview, MT.
They made their home near Granville in Hendrickson Township of McHenry County, where along with raising their 3 children, they had cattle and grew small grains. They moved into Granville in 1997 and enjoyed their time there at the Granville senior center visiting friends and playing cards. They moved to Minot in January of 2004 where they kept active and frequently gathered at the mall to visit friends. Gay died on October 15, 2008 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis in which Audrey was his primary care giver.
Audrey was a longtime member of the Congregational Church in Granville, where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher. In addition, she was active with the Granville Senior Citizens, Rising Homemakers group and served as a Girls Scout leader.
She enjoyed painting, doing wallpapering and staining, along with reading, gardening, tending to her flowers as well as cooking and baking. She loved her role as a grandmother and great grandmother. Spending time with each of them was a real joy to her. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Mapleview Memory Care and Caring Edge Hospice in Minot for the wonderful care provided to mom.
Her loving family includes, daughters, Gayla (Duane) Haberlock, Minot; Kimberly (Steve) Baker, Tea, SD and Juella (Ron) Haase, Fullerton, ND; 6 Grandchildren to include: Dean (Tara) Haberlock, Christina (Brian) Keller, Kelly (Danielle) Baker, Lacey (Josh) Nicolaisen, Brandon (Steph Nefas) Boehm & Brooke (Cory Hughes) Boehm; 10 Great Grandchildren to include: Ashley (Kiel) Werre, Jacie Keller, Trey, Erica and Drew Haberlock, Lucca, Laikyn & Lachlan Baker, Wes & Nora Nicolaisen; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gay; brother, Orville and sisters, Dollie Mae, Viola and Mildred.

Interment: Granville Community Cemetery
Visitation: one hour prior to the service in the church
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred to the Granville Congregational Church or Granville Senior Center.
