Roger Feldner, 81, Bottineau, died Monday, March 17, 2025 at a Minot hospital. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Lake Metigoshe Christian Center.
Roger Feldner, a son of Fred and Myrtle (Meland) Feldner, was born on November 4, 1943 in Minot. He was raised in Donnybrook and graduated from Donnybrook High School. He attended college in Bottineau before getting his degree In Civil Engineering from NDSU in Fargo.
He married Joleen Kornkven on August 18, 1967. They were blessed with two sons, Brad and Shawn. He worked for the US Forest Service in St. Maries, Idaho from 1970 to 1975 before returning to Bottineau to manage and later own Newberger’s Lumberyard.
His grandkids were his pride and joy and he loved following them in all of their activities.
Roger loved the outdoors. He enjoyed pontooning or ice fishing on Metigoshe, deer or moose hunting or snowmobiling in the Turtle Mountains, elk hunting in the Badlands, bear hunting in Canada or fishing in Alaska with his boys, grandkids or friends. He was always up for a round of golf. He was a volunteer fireman, active in BlueLine and Park Board, and on the Board of Directors for Metigoshe Ministries and Minot Builders Supply, He enjoyed traveling.
Over a span of many years, he often ran the clock for hockey games where he claimed he had the best seat in the house. He was a member of Metigoshe Lutheran Church. He was in the National Guard for 6 years. He enjoyed singing in the Bottineau Men’s Choir.
Surviving Family Members are his wife Joleen of Bottineau, his sons: Brad (Laura) of West Fargo and Shawn of Bottineau, his grandchildren Alexandra and Dylan, Sister Char (Bruce) Ough of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He will be greatly missed by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert, his sister and brother-in-law Bev and Jack Miller, brother-in-law Don Henning, his in-laws, Ray and Jo Kornkven and nephew and godchild Michael Kornkven.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to Metigoshe Ministries or an organization of the donors choosing.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
