Memorial services will be at 4 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2025 at Overton Funeral Home. Family will greet friends prior to services from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday. If attending Jack would like it if you wore something green.
Jack was born on May 11, 1937, in Minot, North Dakota. He graduated High School from John R. Rogers High School in Spokane, Washington in 1956. Jack returned to North Dakota and joined the National Guard in 1960 as a Combat Construction Specialist. He was activated in support of the Berlin Crisis and deployed to Fort Riley, Kansas from 1961-1962.
In 1963, he married his only true love, Marja and they remained inseparable for the next 28 years. Jack owned and managed two different service stations in Minot. The first an Exxon Station, followed by a Texaco Station, which also included U-Haul. Ultimately, Jack went to work as the Service Manager for Westlie Motor Company, a Ford Dealership, which served Minot and the surrounding area.
After a significant injury, Jack switched careers and turned to making custom jewelry, finally discovering Antique Shows and Flea Markets were his calling in life and spent the next 40 years mastering his profession. Jack loved the people and the interaction with them, whether they bought something or not and always valued conversations with those who shared in his passions.
Jack was a long-time member of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Indianola. When he wasn’t “Antiquing”, Jack loved working outdoors in his yard or puttering in his shop. He loved to bake pies, cookies, and fudge which were sure to add inches to your waist.
Jack is survived by his two children, Mari Harvey and Jeff (Cheryl) Harvey; grandchildren, Natasha (Daniel) Prindle, Jonathan (Heaven) Harvey, Jenn (Matt) White, Daniel Llewellyn, Bryan Llewellyn, David Llewellyn, and Cody Hoover; great-grandchildren Tanner, Kinley, Tate and Kinslee; and the many dear friends he has grown to know and love over the years. He was preceded in death by his wife Marja, his parents E. Raymond and Mildred Harvey, and his siblings, Frances, Leo, Russ, Bill, Jim, Kay, and Pat.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Jack may be given to the Indianola Knights of Columbus or Indianola Public Library.
