Christine “Chris” Dorscher, 97, Minot, formerly of Linton, died peacefully Sunday, March 16, 2025 at a Minot Nursing Care Facility.

Christine was born September 24, 1927 in Linton, North Dakota, the daughter of Ignatz and Melonia (Huber) Bosch. She was raised on the family farm near Linton and was educated at Linton through the eighth grade.

She moved to Minot in 1952. She was once married to Andrew Dorscher. They were blessed with three children, Arla, Nancy and Ignatz .

Throughout the years, she was employed at Jim Hill Junior High School in the lunchroom, Lucky Strike, The Lamplighter, and Ranger Lounge as a barmaid and bartender.

Chris was a longtime member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, as well as the Moose Lodge, Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of Norway and the Polkateers. She enjoyed playing, bingo, cards, along with reading and dancing. Chris was a loving and outgoing person. She made friends with everyone she met and everywhere she went.

Raising her three children as a single parent didn’t leave her a lot of personal time. She did enjoy short trips with friends or on an occasional bowling trip. She accumulated many pins for these outings. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her lesson in life was to be kind to everybody.

Her loving family includes, daughters, Arla Dockter, Sleepy Eye, MN, Nancy (Clair) Simonson, Glenburn, ND; son, Ignatz (Marilyn) Dorscher, Burlington; 5 grandchildren to include: Matthew Dockter, Sarah Beth, Brock and Megan Simonson and Seth Dorscher; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ida, Anne, Helen, Mary and Pauline; brothers, Pius, Peter and Wendelin and her longtime companion, Ottis Slotsve.

Recitation of The Holy Rosary: Tuesday, March 25th at 7:15 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot

Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot

Memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Grace Church Food Pantry.
