Robert LeRoy Ringsaker, 71, passed Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Trinity Health.
Robert “Bob” LeRoy Ringsaker was born October 29, 1953, the son of LeRoy Edward and Barbara (Schlutz) Ringsaker, in Sisseton, SD. His family lived in various states growing up due to his father’s career as a telephone lineman. In Bob’s younger years, he was part of the Boy Scouts. He also delivered papers and picked potatoes to earn extra money.
Sadly, Bob’s father passed away in a motor vehicle accident in California. His grandparents, Edward and Viola came to California and moved the family to Lidgerwood, North Dakota, where they resided for a few years. Bob’s mother moved him and his siblings to Wahpeton, ND and then to Montevideo, MN. After moving to Minnesota, Robert’s mother Barbara met and married Auman Ward. Their growing family moved to Minot, ND in 1967.
He attended school at Erik Ramstad Middle School and graduated from Minot High School in 1972. After high school Bob started working at Twin City Freight now called American Freight, loading trailers and driving.
Bob married Linda Gottschall on January 18, 1975, at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Benedict, ND. They were blessed with three children, Mandy, LeRoy and John. Bob had a great relationship with his father-in-law, John Gottschall. They spent time traveling, helping on the farm, and fishing.
In the early 80’s, Bob worked in the oil field during the boom. He then went to work for Yellow Freight Systems, retiring in 2009.
Bob enjoyed playing Pinochle, darts, and going to the casinos. He started a rototilling service with Duane Roerick and went to work with his sons, LeRoy and John.
His loving family includes: Wife of 50 years, Linda; children, Mandy (Joseph, Sr.) Goodman, Marionville, MO, and John Ringsaker, Minot; daughter-in-law, Brenda Logelin, Minot; grandchildren, Joshua Goodman, Omaha, AR, Joseph Goodman Jr. Marionville, MO, Mathew (Addison) Goodman, Halltown, MO; Alanna Goodman, Halltown, MO, Paul Goodman, Marionville, MO, Krista Logelin, Minot, and Faith Ringsaker, Minot; great-grandchildren, Winslow Mae and Asher Ledger Goodman, Halltown, MO; siblings, James (Joyce) Ringsaker, Carol Piper, Timothy (Kay) Ward; brother-in-law, Bruce Levy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, LeRoy Ringsaker; siblings, Diane Ringsaker, Ronald Ringsaker, Deborah Ringsaker, and Theresa Levy; father-in-law John Gottschall; mother in law Winifred Gottschall.
Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation: Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Vigil Prayer Service: Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
