Margo Ehr, 83, Minot and formerly of Devils Lake died peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025 in a Minot assisted living facility surrounded by her loving family.
Margo was born on April 12, 1941 in Devils Lake, ND to Harold and Elsie (Johnson) Kenner. She was baptized, raised, educated and confirmed in Devils Lake and graduated from Devils Lake Central High School in 1959. She continued her education at the Trinity School of Nursing in Minot and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1962.
Margo married Mel Ehr on June 6, 1962 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake. They made their home in the farmhouse at the end of Valley St and later on El Rio Drive. Margo was employed at Trinity Hospital for 37 years as a Registered Nurse in the Recovery Room and Emergency Room until her retirement in 2003. Mel passed away on September 21, 2011. Margo had continued to reside in Minot most recently in Edgewood Village.
Margo was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Minot where she taught Sunday School and was active in a circle. She especially enjoyed the summer months spent at the family cabin on Rice Lake as well as reading, crossword puzzles, cooking and gathering recipes. Margo’s door was always open for a cup of coffee or a cold beer with anyone who stopped by. She will be remembered for her wonderful laugh and huge heart.
Margo’s loving family includes her children: Jim (Adair Nermyr) Ehr of Minot and Heidi Ehr (Jerry Lindlauf) of Benedict; grandchildren: Dustin (Jaclyn Kuhn) Ehr, Chase Ehr, Courtney (Caleb) Heilman, Dominic (Megan Preskey) Mantz and Deven Mantz; great grandchildren: Kaylee and Dillon Ehr, Harper, Taytum, Lennox, and one on the way Heilman, River, Rowan, and one on the way Mantz, Braeleigh Guttormson, Chandler, Charlotte, and Hank Mantz; siblings: Rod (Patty) Kenner of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Luann Hirschkorn of Tucson AZ , sisters-in-law: Darlene Melius, Elaine (David) Almy; special cousin: Gary Bryn and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Margo was preceded in death by her parents, mother- and father-in-law, husband, nephews: Roger and Dennis Almy, and in-laws: Linda Kenner, Vern Hirschkorn, and Dean Melius
A celebration of Margo’s life will be held at Wings & Rings, Minot on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Memorials are preferred to the Minot Domestic Violence Center or to the donor’s choice.
