Eloise Krueger, 92, Minot and formerly of Sawyer died peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Eloise Frances Schmidt was born on March 10, 1932 near Sawyer, ND to Rudolph and Emma (Hofer) Schmidt. She was raised on the family farm in Brilliant Township of Ward County near Sawyer and attended rural school in that area. She continued her education at Sawyer High School and graduated in 1950.

Eloise married Waldo Krueger on June 3, 1950 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sawyer, ND. They made their home and raised their children in Sawyer. Eloise was employed as a bookkeeper/secretary at Russ Accounting for eighteen years. Eloise and Waldo moved to Minot in 1998. Waldo died on February 13, 2008. Most recently, Eloise had resided at Somerset Court Assisted Living Center.

Eloise was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church – Minot where she was active in Bible studies and quilting circle. She was a former member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church – Sawyer from 1950 until 2000 where she was a member of the choir, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and taught Sunday School. Eloise was baptized and confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church – rural Sawyer. Eloise especially enjoyed crafts, quilting, traveling, camping and reading.

Eloise’s loving family includes her children: Daniel Krueger, Paulette Vetter and David (Jodi) Krueger all of Minot and Randy Krueger of Mangilao, Guam; grandchildren: Paige (Frank), Seth (Ashley), Nathan (Kimee), Alanna and Rhanda (Mateo); great grandchildren: Jessie, Dallas, Laiken, Ellie, Riley and Emerson; siblings: JoAnn Marschall of Minot and James (Sharon) Schmidt of McMinnville, OR and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law: Stan Vetter, siblings: Elroy and Elaine and in-laws: Gordon Lubbers, Elloide Marschall and Donna Schmidt.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens – Minot.

Visitation: Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the Our Savior Lutheran Church, Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch or to the donor’s choice.
