Donald Duane Scott passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, NV at Infinity Hospice Care, surrounded by his loving family on February 17, 2025, due to complications of diabetes and a stroke.

He was born on July 2, 1957, in Minot, ND to Ray and Betty Lou (Michaelson) Scott. After the death of his mother, his father continued to raise his children after they moved to the family farm with his grandparents, LeRoy and Ruth Michaelson.

Don graduated from Velva High School in 1975, participating in FBLA, football, basketball, and baseball. He continued to play recreational sports for several years playing basketball, sponsored by the Lariat, and softball, sponsored by Nola’s Lounge, where he acquired many lifelong friends.

Don held many positions in the electrical industry, retiring as an electrical wholesale salesman for Basin Electric in Minot, ND. After his retirement, Don enjoyed spending his winters in Las Vegas and summers at Strawberry Lake with his sister and her family.

Don is survived by his sisters Shelly and Sherry, his brother-in-law- law Ray, and two nephews, Michael and Daulton. Also, his aunts Kay Mikkelson and Karen Latimer, and several close cousins. Donnie will be missed by his beloved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of life is being planned for the summer.
