Robert Berdahl, 51, Minot, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025 in a Minot Hospital.
Robert ‘Bobby’ Berdahl was born February 3, 1973 in Trinity Hospital, Minot, to parents Donald and Arlene (Martinson) Berdahl. He attended Minot High School for a few years until starting a career as a tradesman.
Being a “man of many trades”, Bobby worked many positions in his early years, such as a painter, carpenter, mechanic, and completed various remodeling jobs. He was employed with Wurgler Painting for many years and became an excellent detail painter. This led him to eventually go off on his own and form his own painting company, Master Painter. Bobby took great pride in his work, and often preferred to work alone so he could take his time and do the best job possible. In addition to his painting business, Bobby continued to dabble in all things he knew, often doing side mechanical or carpentry jobs as he was asked. He loved to use his gifted craftsmanship in any way he could.
In his free time, Bobby enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers. He was very well known in the family for his excellent deer sausage in addition to anything that he made on the grill. He also enjoyed working on cars; no matter what the issue, he could find it and fix it, every time. Bobby’s baking and cooking skills extended far beyond the grill as he frequently made bread, cookies, and many other things to feed family and friends. Outside of his cooking skills, Bobby was a very talented gardener. He grew various plants and flowers and was very proud of how nice they looked. He often made sure to show off the yard whenever a visitor came over.
Bobby will be remembered most as an incredibly loyal friend and family member. He was always one call away and would make time to help anyone in need. He was deeply loved by all, especially the birds, squirrels and stray animals around town who were fed by him at every encounter. Bobby’s big heart and loving ways will be missed by many.
Bobby’s struggles with mental health ultimately led to his untimely death. If you or anyone you know is struggling, please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing (988) for help.
Bobby’s loving family includes: his son, Jonathan Berdahl; mother, Arlene Berdahl; siblings, Marlene Brandt, Marilynn Tayler, Connie Marie Mercier, Carol (Carl) Florez, Roxanne Kellan, Linda (Daniel) Seaman, Lorie Ann Meyer, Donald Berdahl, and Cathy Jo Berdahl, sister-in-law, Cathy Hussey-Berdahl, along with many nieces and nephews.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Donald Berdahl; brothers, David and Allan Berdahl, and sister, Peggy Sheppard.
