Rita S. Zurcher, 72, passed away peacefully in her home on January 19, 2025 surrounded by family.

Rita Sue Drader was born on September 25, 1952, in Rugby, North Dakota, to Melvin and June (Boulds) Drader and was raised in Towner, North Dakota.

Rita married Fred Zurcher, and together they built a loving and close-knit family. Rita’s love for her children and grandchildren was evident in the joy she found in spending time with them. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, always putting her family first and ensuring they felt loved and supported. Her playful sense of humor, especially with her grandchildren, brought much laughter. She loved to scare them and chase them around the house, they loved it just as much.

Outside of her devotion to family, Rita found happiness in everyday activities, such as reading, cross-stitching, baking, and decorating her home. She also enjoyed dancing, going out to lunches with her sisters-in-law, and making lasting memories with those closest to her.

Rita leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her loving presence will be deeply missed, but she will always be remembered with affection by all who were fortunate to know her.

Her loving family includes: Children, Hans Zurcher, Minot, Adam Zurcher, Minot, Joshua (Jan) Zurcher, Grand Forks, ND, Rachel (Chris) Brunner, Minot, and Pepper Zurcher;

Grandchildren, Michelle, Kennedie, Corey, Cole, Zoe, Gavin, Akira, Addyson, Keagen, Keleigh, Kieran, Oliver, and Vendela;

Great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bella, Aaron, DJ, Scarlett, Aaron Dean, Hazel; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Aaron Zurcher; brothers, Melvin Drader, Jr., Sylvester Drader, Palmer Drader; sisters, Dixie Schwindt, Joanna Jones, Sharon Desnaryrs, and Gerri Moffat.
