Ray Webb

Oct. 18, 1939-Jan. 5, 2025

Minot

Ray Webb, 85, Minot, died Sunday, January 5, 2025, in a Minot hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Ray Francis Webb was born on October 18, 1939, in Tulsa, OK, the son of Ray and Hazel Webb. He was raised and educated in Tulsa, OK.

Ray was united in marriage to Rita Wood on March 23, 1960, in Tulsa, OK. He enlisted in the US Air Force that same year. Together they lived the military lifestyle for the next 31 years as they found themselves stationed in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, England, and North Dakota. He retired with honors after 31 years of faithful service to his country on January 31, 1991, after serving three tours in Vietnam and earning the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.

They would make the ‘Magic City’ of Minot home for the rest of their lives together. Ray found work after the military at the ND State Fairgrounds, Walmart, and the Minot YMCA, where he tried to retire no less than four times, but his work ethic kept him on the payroll for at least four additional years!

Ray and Rita loved spending summers at the lake, where they enjoyed their lot near Ft. Stevenson State Park on Lake Sakakawea. It was their little slice of Heaven on earth, where they enjoyed fishing, a cold beverage and time with family and friends. Other summer nights were filled with Ray and Rita enjoying a car ride in his 1951 custom Ford as a member of the Dakota Cruisers in Minot. He was known to be a collector of things and was often found tinkering in the garage. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and active in the Minot community with memberships he held with the VFW, Moose Lodge and Minot Elks. Ray was an esteemed member of the Star in The West #33 Masonic Lodge in Minot and was honored to be the Grand Master in 2020-2021.

Ray will be remembered for his kind and caring way, his bright eyes and easy smile that reeled in many people who often became lifetime friends. He was one of a kind!

Ray is survived by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Rita Webb, Minot; grandsons Ethan and Evan Webb and their mother Teddi Kingston, all of Minot; granddaughter Casy (Thane Roth) Charley, of Minot; great-grandson Carter Ray Roth; brothers-in-law Jim Wood, Las Vegas, NV and Gibb Wood, Sahuarita, AZ along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, sons Roger and Michael Webb, twin sister Ruby Webb, sister EdraLee Leery, brother Robert Webb and sister-in-law Kathy Gibb.
