Inez Lee
May 10, 1925-Jan. 21, 2025
Parshall
Inez Lee, 99, of Parshall, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at a nursing facility in Bismarck, surrounded by her family.
Inez was born on the family farm on May 10, 1925, to J.R. and Leta (Turner) Price, south of Van Hook. She attended Liberty School until the 8th grade. Inez worked as a telephone operator at the Van Hook Telephone Company. After a summer-to-fall courtship, she married Clayton (Casey) Lee in Van Hook on November 11, 1951. They established their home on the Lee Farm southeast of Van Hook, where Inez began farming and ranching alongside Casey. Together, they raised three daughters.
Throughout her 99 years, Inez witnessed many changes. One significant event was the flooding caused by the Garrison Dam, which resulted in the loss of 200 acres of farmland west of their property. In 1958, a tornado destroyed everything except their house. During her lifetime, Inez saw 18 presidents serve the country.
Inez found joy in being a homemaker, farmwife, and gardener. She was renowned for her cooking and baking, especially her buns, caramel rolls, and doughnuts. For her 90th birthday, she requested a new garden tiller and continued to mow the grass on her John Deere well into her 90s.
Inez cherished visits from her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She served as treasurer for Liberty Township for many years and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Parshall.
Inez is survived by her children: Cynthia “Cindy” (Bob) Feist of Bismarck, Ellen (Dennis) Kellar of Parshall, and Wanda Benz of Bismarck; grandchildren: Tyler (Brittni) Kellar; Lee Feist; Anthony and Jennifer Benz; and great-grandson Jordan Kellar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Casey; parents; son-in-law, Jan Benz; sister, Helen (Don) Allen; and brothers, Bob (Rose Marie) Price and Don (Shirley) Price.
