Glen Landsiedel

Glen Landsiedel was born on April 14, 1932, to Edward and Gertie (Sayler) Landsiedel in Underwood, where he was raised and educated. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from June 1955 to June 1957, spending time at several bases in the United States and overseas in Germany.

On November 26, 1957, Glen married Joan Gondringer in Underwood. They lived there for a short time before moving to Parshall in 1958.

Glen began his 35-year career at GTA Elevator, later known as Parshall Farmers Union and United Quality. He was a dedicated employee and retired in 1994.

Glen and Joan enjoyed traveling and visiting local casinos. They shared a love of gardening, and Glen often helped preserve their produce and bake pies. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting for deer and pheasants, never missing the opportunity to receive a tag in the North Dakota deer lottery. Glen also liked playing cards, especially pinochle, with his family and friends.

Glen was an active member of his community. He served 28 years as a director and president on the board of the Parshall Credit Union. Additionally, he was a volunteer firefighter and was honored as a lifetime member of the North Dakota Fireman’s Association. Glen also volunteered for the Parshall Ambulance service.

Known for his warm demeanor, Glen loved to visit with people and never forgot a name. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy characterized by kindness and community service. Glen Landsiedel passed away at the age of 92 on Friday, January 24, 2025, at a Minot hospital.

Glen is survived by his children, Lavon Wolf (Michael) of Minot, Lori Huus (James) of Parshall, Lyle Landsiedel of Minot, and Larry Landsiedel (Jayne) of Minot; grandchildren, Ashley Medler; Brooke Locken, Dustin Huus; Brock Landsiedel, Samantha Milnes, Devin Hiller, and DaNae Jones; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob Landsiedel (Valerie) of Bismarck, Larry Landsiedel of Mandan; sister, Betty Linder (Claude) of Minnesota; and special friends, Rick and Marcia Burckhard and Ursula Shaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan Landsiedel; and siblings, Virgil (Lenora), Wayne, Leora Singer (Willie), Cleo (Ardella), and Darrel (Kathy).

Funeral: Friday, January 31, 2025, at 1 pm at Parshall American Legion, Parshall

Visitation: Friday, January 31, 2025, from 11 am-1 pm at the Legion Hall.

Interment: St Bridget Catholic Cemetery, Parshall

In place of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Parshall Fire Department or the Parshall Ambulance.
